Following is a transcript of an obituary from the Vallejo Times-Herald, dated Nov. 11, 1996:


"Justine Bowen
(Jan. 20, 1924-Nov. 8, 1996)

Justine Lucille "Jo" Bowen, 72, died Fri-
day at a local hosptial after a long illness. A
native of McCloud, Mrs. Bowen was a home-
maker.
She was a member of the Napa Valley
Rock and Gem Club; a Kaiser volunteer for
15 years; and a volunteer at the Vallejo Naval
Museum.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years,
Steve; three daughters, Linda Edwards of
New York, Betty Lou Jerde of Vallejo and
Rosemary Siems of Spring Valley; sister,
Ruth Rosentreter of Chico; and seven grand-
children and nine great-grandchildren.
Private family services were held with ar-
rangements under the direction of Colonial
Chapels. Inurnment is in Paskenta Cemetery."
