I'm trying to find out about what type of work was done and the areas or the country in which the Jamaicans worked.

Any information would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks

My father migrated from Jamiaca to Cuba around 1915 and worked in a horse stable. He stayed there for about 5 years and then migrated to New York via Ellis Island. I don't what part of Cuba he worked.

That's interesting because my late father's marriage certificate states that his fatjer had been a horse trainer in Cuba.

I was interested to see that your family are from Clarendon, JA. My paternal grandfather, William Allison, was horse trainer from Mocho, Clarendon. He also went to work in Cuba. My father was born in 1921 so my paternal grandfather was most likely around in the time of your grandfather.

My grandparents are from Mocho, Clarendon. They spend the late 1800s and then again in early 1900s in Panama. Some are now in Cuba. One of my theories is that came from Cuba or were originally born in Panama.
