I have been at this brick wall since I started my search for PARKER, ELZEY and BARLOW from Southampton, Hampshire, England. My Parker ancestors to Accomack County, Va. in 1649. Maybe Jamestown? But settled in Accomack. Can't fins a ship mane or a port, but did find my George Parker arriving in 1649 and married a Florence Cade in 1655 in Accomack Co., Va.
Any leads would be very helpful and appreciated. Thanks. Howard

Re: Parker ancestors to Accomack County, Va. 1649
Found this record: Name: George Parker Year: 1649 Place: Virginia Source Publication Code: 6220 Primary Immigrant: Parker, George Annotation: Record of 20,000 very early immigrants, with much relevant information. Taken from Patent Books 1 through 5. Title page states, "In 5 volumes," but up to 1979 only three had appeared. See nos. 6221 and 6223 for second and third volumes, published in 1977 and 1979. Issued originally by Nugent in parts between 1929 and 1931; the parts were then largely incorporated in this work, no. 6220. Stewart, item no. 9025, compiled the article, "Ancient Planters [1607]," pages xxviii-xxxiv. Source Bibliography: NUGENT, NELL MARION. Cavaliers and Pioneers: Abstracts of Virginia Land Patents and Grants, 1623-1666. Vol. 1. Richmond [VA]: Dietz Printing Co., 1934. 767p. Reprinted by Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, 1983. Page: 185
Details will probably be found in the Source Bibiliography.

Thank you Rose for this data. I also recieved this same from two other researchers by email. I went to the main library here in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. They had these books. I spent a short time looking at them, found what you have here. But unforntanity I did not see it, maybe missed it I don't know, but didn't find any ships name, nor any ports names. Seems as though everyone elses ships names are recorded.
The date 1649 would indicate to me that maybe my PARKER's escapted England because the Commonwealth with Oliver Cromwell had taken over the Crown, and beheaded King Charles I.
My Parker's were Puritans, and I'm not sure if they left because they were close to the Crown, and afraid of Cromwell, or not so close to the Crown and friends with Cromwell?
Maybe they went to another port, say, France or Scotland or Ireland to come to Virginia in 1649?
I do know that a Mr. Ralph Barlow "transported" George, Robert and Ann Parker in 1649 to Charles City County, Virginia (now in N.C.). Ralph Barlow was given acreage for bring over many passengers.
Thanks Ruth for taking the time to post the above post, I certainly appreciate the time. Howard Blair

Re: Parker ancestors to Accomack County, Va. 1649
Howard, Is there any information on Ann Parker who arrived in 1649 with her brothers John and Robert? Did she ever marry?
I noticed that on Will of George Parker, Proved 7 Oct 1674, that it was witnessed by Daniel and Ann Jenifer. Could she be Ann Parker????
And I know I've asked you this question before, but, do you know anything about Elinor Odait who was one of the 18 people Ralph Barlowe transported to Accomack Co?
I'm wondering if all 18 people came together on one ship, or if they came in two or more ships and Ralph claimed them all at one time for the 850 acres.
