Here's part of it to verify it's the right person. I don't have access to the full obit though.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a custodian in the Burlington school system for 23 years, retiring in 1983. He attended Flint Hills Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include two sons, David Sutherland of Zeeland, Mich., and Scott Sutherland of Gardner, Kan.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Bessie Yarber of Doniphan, Mo. and Clarice Puryear of Independence, Kan.; and one brother, Edwin Sutherland of Doniphan.

You could also try contacting the funeral home directly to see if they will send you a copy since it's no longer listed in their online archives.

Currently the new Hawkeye Newspaper obits are copyrighted, so we cannot copy them.

I have asked the editor for permission to copy for genealogy purposes, but so far no response.

If anyone knows of alternate public domain resources, that could be a big help.

Could just the relevant names, dates and locations be transcribed for me?
That portion is considered public information and would avoid copyright issues since the entire text of the obit is not being used.
At the very least, are the parent names and the funeral home listed?
