My g-g grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Church (b. TN ca 1828), married my g-g grandmother, Mary Caroline Thompson (b. TN ca 1830), in Cannon Co., TN, in 1848. In 1850 they were in Rutherford Co., TN, and by 1860 they were in Coffee Co., TN. If you can supply me with parents' names and/or siblings' names, I'd really appreciate it.

My g g grandfather, Joel Church SR, was in Tennessee in that time frame, he had children with him, but Iv found no mention of one by that name. Joel was a son of Yankee John Church of North Carolina.

What part of TN was your ancestor in and what were his children's names? I am really having a tough time trying to pinpoint who my Benjamin Franklin Church's parents were. Some of us who are working on this line are pretty sure his mother's name was Elizabeth, and perhaps his father was a Thomas Church. But we have no proof positive.

Hello,

I am also descended from Benjamin F. Church through his son John Marion who moved to Arkansas. Have you found anything about his parents? I have not been able to find information about who his family were either.

Please let me know if you find anything...

Thanks! Lyndee

Hi, Lyndee,
We have corresponded before, but I have yet to figure out who your parent is: is it Jerry Newcomb? I would enjoy swapping information with you from my email address to yours, rather than through a public forum. My email address is cjhays@bayou.com. Please contact me.

I'm looking for my Church family in Hickman County and/or Maury County. Samuel A. Church married Alabama Bingham. She died in 1879 and buried in the Church cemetery in Hickman County. Any thoughts on this family?

Liz
