Here is a list of Okmulgee county cemeteries I have compiled from many different sources like/cemetery books, obituaries for Okmulgee county in the State of Oklahoma.

I have removed the Section Township & Range from the cemetery location because the county archive manager not allowed me to post them because of it being currant information. I would not want to brake her rural or guidelines.

My g-grandfather is buried in the Sharp cemetery but I can't find him listed. His name is William B Russell b:1867-Missouri,d:Mar-2-1942. Any info would help.

I have a James Rolland Hill and his wife burried in Okmulgee I could drive to the cemetery but I don't know the name. If at wal-mart in Okmulgee you go towards town turn at first light left go about a mile and its on the left. I live in Utah and havent been in Okmulgee since 1990 so if you could give me the cemetery name and the information from there tombstone I would be very greatful. Karen beaded_blackbear@yahoo.com

If your at Walmart and you turn North toward town the first light is by Mazzio's Pizza that is 21st. It only goes 2 blocks and then it stops. The second light is 20th street if you go 1 mile your at the coke plant and there is no cemetery there. I would try and call a local funeral home and tell them what location the cemetery is in and they might be able to help you.

Hi,I am looking for a Melvin Monroe Thomason,Born in Ft.Smith in 1875,died around Okmulgee in 1941. His wife was Eliza or Elizabeth Hufft Thomason.How would I find what cemetary he was buried in? Her also. Thanks James Huff

A few ways I would try would be starting with the cemeteries that are posted in the Okmulgee County archives. You can also get a copy of his death certificate that should have the cemetery listed but not always. You could contact the woman over the Okmulgee County archives she helps do research for a small fee or contact the Okmulgee Genealogy Society.

It sounds like you're looking for the Oakwood Cemetery. It's now the 3rd light north of Wal-Mart (13th Street). It's one of the older cemeteries, and isn't kept up by anyone, but is in the city limits. There is a list on Rootsweb.

Just as a 2nd choice, if you did turn at the 2nd light(this did use to be the first), there are a couple of others, but are 2-5 miles outside the town.
