It is about time to renew and I discovered that Ancestry is only offering monthly subscriptions and a bundle good for only 6 months instead of the usual year. This change isn't comforting! Has anyone heard something about this or a price hike in our future? Thank you, Dawn

Dawn,
While they may not show them, I'm sure one year subscriptions are available. After all, They are offered as gift subscriptions.

Thanks Andy, I'll call to renew and ask at that time for the gift offer since it is for a full year. I really don't want to have to do this more than once each year! Dawn

Thanks Lindalew and DonnellyBurgess! That's good to know! I was surprised by the only subscription offered me for a six month period. Thanks for the reply! Dawn

1) You aren't entitled to buy the gift subscription for yourself.
2) The 6-month pricing at the 12-month rate is a discount from the usual 6-month rate.
3) You don't see the rate to renew your *current* terms because it is automatic and cannot be arbitrated.
4) There were a dozen ways you could have approached this subject without assuming facinorous motives. Anyone who titles an assumptive board post "Ancestry price hike coming" without first asking questions and getting the whole story is, indeed Chicken Little.

Thank you Chris for your comments but the offer I found at my account is not a discounted price. As for the remainder I have neither the time nor the inclination to play word games on the boards with anyone. You seem to have enough friends that do. Have a great day! Dawn

You're the one who said "It actually is the same price I paid for the subscription this time only at 1/2 a year instead of a full one."
The usual 6-month subscription is at a higher per-month rate than the 12-month subscription.

Chris, I've done the math already. The offer cited to me at $24.95 a month for a total of $149.70 for 6 months is equal to the $299 (can't recall if it had cents included) I paid for this years subscription. Same price as last year's offer and not a discount and for only 6 months instead of 12. Have a nice day Chris!
