I am researching the crews of 101 Squadron that served during the 2nd World War and would be interested if anyone has any photographs,preferably with names.

Hello I stumbled across your message quite by chance.
My Father Lionel Curtis Young flew with 101 squadron from 06/09/41-22/06/42 in Wellington's. He is still alive living in Dover and just celebrated his 90th birthday.

I do have some photos.

Thankyou for your reply regarding your father who served with 101 Squadron.I have spoken to my friend Colin Goddard who is researching the Squadron and has extracted various operational records for the squadron.

My dad Harris E. (RED) Naugler
Served with 101 squadron 1943 -1945. HE DID 36 SORTIES WHILE
THE REST OF HIS CREW MADE A 37TH .UNFORTUNATLY ONE OF THE CREW , WHO HAD JUST RECENTLY BEEN MARRIED,WAS KILLED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT JUST SHORTLY AFTER. DAD NEVER FORGOT WHAT
THEY HAD DONE FORE HIM.ALL HAVE SIENCE PASSED AWAY EXCEPT
FOR STEVE EMERSON WHO LIVES IN B.C. CANADA

Thankyou for the information about your father.My friend Colin Goddard has all the operational records up to the end of the war but at the present time has only extracted information up to the early part of 1943.Any information of the crew would be appreciated and i have passed the info you sent to Colin.I can be contacted on james.turner3@ntlworld.com.

101 sqn records show that my father was KIA. In fact he lived until 1985. He was a rear gunner (Wellington III X3669 SR-H). Shot down on 19-20 June 1942 over the North Sea, saved by dutch fishermen. Sole survivor. 3 years in POW camps. Rejoined RAF after the war. Retired 1972. Although born in this country he volunteered from Argentina.
