Hope someone can help me! Am trying to locate additional information on the ELGIN/STEWART/LOCKHARDT/SCHIRMER families of Galveston. Information I currently have is as follows: Sophie ELGIN (b. Mar. 7, 1877 in Fayette Co. to John ILGEN and Augusta DIECKMANN) married Robert STEWART on Oct. 30, 1895 at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Galveston. They had one known daughter named Ella aka "Honey." At some point Robert STEWART died and Sophie married Charles LOCKHARDT. Honey STEWART married a man by the name of Houston SCHIRMER on Sept. 3, 1912 there in Galveston. They had two known children - a girl by the name of Lorraine and a boy named Houston. Lorraine was a singer and was, by all accounts, quite stunning. She married a medical student - I'm unsure of the man's name. Shortly after they married he went to step onto an elevator, fell down the shaft and died. I'm not sure if she ever remarried. I also am uncertain what happened to Houston, Jr. and his parents, Houston, Sr. and "Honey." If anyone has any information on any of the individuals mentioned above, please get in touch! Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated!
