I believe all the Gierke boys are gone. There was a sister left, but I will have to get back with you on her. I don't know if she is still alive. I know she sold some vacant property next to her home on the AuSable River a few years back.

Early Gierke was my school teacher until 1963. Charles was the maintenance man at the US Post Office until he retired a few years ago.

I am in the process of transcribing the Elmwood Cemetery where the Gierkes are buried. I have the following (Sexton records):
22 GIERKE, ADAM FRANK 04-23-1947
23 GIERKE, ALBERT C. 05-31-1962
24 GIERKE, ALBERT C. 05-31-1962

26 GIERKE, DOUGLAS(CREMAINS)10-22-1997
27 GIERKE, EARL 03-29-1979
28 GIERKE, ELLA 1966 2 97
29 GIERKE, LILIAN 10-13-1962
30 GIERKE, LLOYD JR. 04-03-1968
31 GIERKE, LLOYD SR. 10-20-1973

I don't have any more information on the Gierke family other than what I already gave you. If you give me a day or two I can check the county building for marriage dates for any Gierkes I can find.

BTW. I made a spelling error on the first name of my school teacher. His name is Earl not Early. I don't know how the y got in there.

Frank married Mary Louise Gould. Had many children, likewise Theodore Gould who mar. Flora Newcombe, parents of Mary Louise Gould Gierke.
