I am looking for links to my family that immigrated to the US (South Dakota) in the late 1800's. My Wagner link immigrated in 1883 from Christnach. My Great great Grandpa was John Peter Wagner. He married Maria Margareta Suttor. They married in 1868 and immigrated in 1883. Julius Miller was another Great great Grandfather who's daughter, Clara, married Ben Wagner (son of the afore mentioned).I am also lookign for info on Ed DeVries who immigrated alone 1906. he married Mary Krier and one of their son's Leo, was my paternal grandfather.

Greetings from America

I am looking for information on my Luxembourg family. My grandmother was Elizabeth Devillet Seher, married to John Seher. They moved to Milwaukee,Wisconsin, with my late father in the late 20's. Her mother was Marie Weis and her father was Francois Devillet. I think that after Francois passed away, Marie married into the KRIER family..just am not sure. They are all gone now. Some of the names my grandma mentioned were...Emil, Pierre, Raymond and Jeannot Devillet. Also,Suzanne,Melanie and Albert Krier. Then also there were some folks from the Degas family. If you have any information to share, please E-mail me at ccpnp@aol.com

Sincerely.....Nancy Pierce

Nancy,
I am interested in your Degas family. I am helping a researcher in France named Daniel DeGage who does not speak or write in English. He is researching the surname DeGage which is often spelled as Degas and others (DeGaugh, Gage, etc.)
Daniel is researching three DeGage men:
1) Louis DeGage born 1776 on the island of Martinique. He left France 12 Dec. 1797 for New York. His parents were: Louis DeGage and Marie La Ferriere.
2) Charles DeGage (b & d unknown)who married Navaerua Ue de Huahine in French Polynesia. They had at least one child: Teri Teriitutea DeGage (b. 1875).
3) Edwin DeGage bought land in California in 1874 in Sonoma County. His age unknown.
Does any of the above information connect with yours?
Sincerely,
Cathy Lampshire

I just made the connection from Holland to Codington county today through Edward De Vries or as his birth name Eelke de Vries. He was born September 28, 1888 to Andries Rintjes de Vries and Akke Eelkes Postma in Gaasterlan-Sleat, Friesland, Netherlands.

I found a passenger list with Eelke de Vries heading to Kranzburg, SD. Did a couple of hours of research locating Census Records and other records and found Edward De Vries in the area. I was guessing that they were the same person for about 2 hours and then found a SSDI record for Ed De Vries with the same exact birthday. Viola, they are the same person.

So the info I have on Edward:
9/28/1888 Born in Holland
3/25/1908 Arrived in the US
5/9/1910 Census Kranzburg
1911 Naturalization
10/24/1913 Married Mary Krier
1/7/1920 Census Kranzburg
4/23/1930 Census Kranzburg
1953-1954 SSN 504-36-9814 issued in SD.
June 1964 Died

I have the de Vries family charted back to 1811 through this line. This is where I join the de Vries family through the Lines/Lienesch surname. Our first common ancestor is Johann Bernard Lienesch, Baptised June 19, 1719. This line goes back to 1440 into Germany to Johann Von Dene Von Hamelen.

This is the missing family link I have been looking for for 9 years! So glad to finally have an answer. And it makes perfect sense as Edward and Andrew are my dad's brother's names who are Edward's grandsons! Would love any further info you have on this link...

We're related and we're looking for the same information. Josephine DeVillet is my great (x6) grandmother. I've traced a couple generations back from her husband Francois Marson, but Josephine is a dead end for me as well.
