MRS. JOHN CARNILL.
Emma House Carnill, daughter of Milt [Milton] and Isabelle [Isabell] Glore House was born in the Germania neighborhood, near Bonne Terre, Mo., June 20, 1877, and passed away in River Rouge, Mich., May 28, 1929, aged 51 years 11 months and 8 days. On the 17th day of July, 1897, she was united in marriage to John A. Carnill also of the Germania settlement. To this union ten children were born, all of whom with the husband and father survive. They are Lucy (Mrs. Elza Burgess) of Sprott, Mo., Gertrude (Mrs. Charles Archambo) of Farmington, Mo., Arthur, Lydia (Mrs. Elmer Covington), Raymond, Edmund, John, Jr., Bessie, Maude and Thomas, all of River Rouge. Also four sisters, Mrs. Richard House, Mrs. Harvey Straughn, Mrs. Fritz Bockenkamp, all of Bonne Terre and five brothers, Albert, Frank, Josh, Melvin and Ben House of Bonne Terre. Mrs. Carnill also took into her home her niece, Jean Carnill, now Mrs. Fred Stange of Elvins, while she was an infant. She also took into her home seven years ago her two grandchildren, John Thomas and Mildred Carnill, whom she lovingly cared for. She had always made her home in St. Francois County until two years ago when she with her husband and children moved to River Rouge to reside.

She was converted many years ago at the Hunt School house during the Sparks and Smith revival and soon afterwards united with the Germania Baptist church and after moving to River Rouge she with her husband and the eight children and two grandchildren united with the Jefferson Christian church of which she was a faithful member. Her body was brought to Elvins last Thursday to the home of her niece, Mrs. Stange. Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church at Esther on Friday by the pastor, Rev. Presser, assisted by Rev. Liddell, pastor of the Elvins Baptist Church. John Boyer, of Leadwood, a life long friend of the departed one, paid her a beautiful tribute at the grave. She was laid to rest in Woodlawn cemetery.

The News extends to the heartbroken family our deepest sympathy.
