supposedly lived in L'arbre croche 1829-30

I have a book called Yesterday's People Revisited, By Raymond Kalbfleisch. It lists alot info about Chief Blackbird, also Andrew Margaret and William Blackbird.

Andrew J. BLACKBIRD wrote a History of the Ottawa and Chippewa Indians (I think that is the title) in which he mentions his family. It goes something like this:
1. Pun-Go-Wish (Ottawa/Odawa war leader)=unknown
2. Kishe-Kau-Ko, chief=unknown
3. Mack-E-Te-Pe-Nessy aka Blackbird, Sr., b. c.1763 = ____ SHAWBENEE
4. Andrew/Amable J. BLACKBIRD, b. c.1818 (had four other known siblings), d. 7 Sept 1908, aka Pe-Ness-Wi-Qua=Elizabeth Martha FISH, b. c.1830/40 ENG, d. 10 Jun 1920 Harbor Springs, Emmet Co., MI. Had four children that I know of: William, Fred, Nettie, & Bert

my roots are in emmet county. the surname Blackbird is on the durant role marked Brimley MI before 1910. would you have any info about the durant role which would verify my link to Blackbird from the surname Assiginack?

Where does the name Clark come in? My husband's grandmother was a Clark. Story has it that someone in her family was native american, grasping at clues since I don't have many to work with.
