the community-office Hallein has no direct e-mail-adress stated, but you can go in contact about the following formular with your questions and also for getting birth-certificate. the last you get since 1938 at the "Standesamt" at community-office. all others before 1938 are to get about roman.cath.parish-churches.
http://www.hallein.gv.at/de_stadt-anfrage.html
translation for the formular:
Betreff: inquiry
Ihre Anfrage: your question
Ihr Name: your name
E-Mail: your e-mail-adress
Firma: business
Straße: street
PLZ/Ort: postalcode/town
Land: country
Telefon: phone
then click on button "Anfrage absenden".
they will contact you then - think and hope about e-mail :o)

for research more back you can go in contact with the parish-church Hallein:
http://www.kirchen.net/portal/
click on map on Hallein and take then again Hallein.

but write first to the above community-office (Stadtgemeindeamt) Hallein and ask about Jankovic-family.
as it is a slavic familyname i´m not of sure, if they always lived there. must to be find out at their "Meldeamt" (registry-office).can be that the Jankovic came at time of WW2 or so (a guess by myself). best you send also a document which shows the relationship like a marriage-certificate of parents or maybe a copy of your passport or so....in Austria you get 100 years back only info if you related and if you can state this.
if you are born in Hallein, so think in the hospital (Krankenhaus)there. :o)

so maybe ask if you are also in the files there:
http://www.kh-hallein.at/index.php?option=com_content&ta...

i think Jankovic is of orgin a serbian name.
hope the info helps and good luck.

now, hope the community-office Stadtgemeindeamt Hallein
will clear up some for you. if your mother maybe went back directly to Hallein they must have them in their files at their Meldeamt/registry-office. otherwise i would hope you get info of other place she went there. we have now also a central registry in Vienna, where they can make a lookup online. because of this i thought you maybe send a scannning of a document which states your relationship. if they can find her adress, but will not tell you - think there would be the possibility, that they will ask her for you if she would like to contact you.
now in any case - good luck! :o)
