Looking for information on gr. grandfather Virgil Harmon. ( Born in Gentry, MO?) He married Lois Edith Shirley and had four children: Kenneth, Kathryn, Claude, and Carrel Eugene (Billy).

They lived in OK, MO, and KS.

Looking for info on siblings and parents. Any information would be appreciated.

I have just recently started looking for info on my family which are Harmons. My father had a brother named Virgil. He was born in 1884, I think. I have no knowwledge of his own family. But all the brothers seemed to be born in Missouri, Kansas or Okla. My grandparents supposedly were from Worth Co. Missouri.

I've had very little luck researching this side of the family. I have very little info on Virgil before his marriage. That is if he had siblings and his parents name. I am thinking he would have been born mid 1880's going by his wifes DOB. I know he was born in Gentry, MO and after his marriag lived in Buffalo, OK That is were my grandfather was born. He died in Fayetville, AR. I've been stuck on this for some time and don't really know where to look next. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Molly, I had an uncle Virgil born 9/29/1884. He evidently lived in Buffalo, Ok. for a while because my 3rd counsin that I have just found seems to remember him being there.She believes that he has a grandson that lives in Wichita, Kansas. But she didn't know what happened to Virgil. It's odd you mentioned Fayetville, Ark. because my father John Harmon moved us to Fayetville when I was not even a year old, about 1936. Then we moved ten miles away to Springdale where we lived until 1947. It's all kind of coincidental.

Carolyn, I do have relatives on the Harmon side that do and did live in Wichita. Would be interested in talking with you to find out if this could be the same line. There do seem to be some similarities. My E-Mail is facime@hotmail.com Hope to hear from you soon.

My grandfather John Harmon moved from Fairview OK to Enid OK. He descended from King Emanuel Harmon. Anybody got info on that bunch?
