Looking ancestors of Thomas Cannon Elam (born 6/2/1908; died 6/6/1985) from Murfreesboro, TN. His parents--David Frank Elam(born 9/28/1866; died 9/7/1936)and Eliza Cannon Elam (born 9/15/1874; died 1926). Grandparents - Thomas Jefferson Elam (born 11/25/1832; died 1902) and Elizabeth Snell (born ?; died 1912). Great-grandparents-- Edward Elam (died 1839) married to Rebecca Wade (died 1858). Great-great grandfather--Daniel Elam (died 18290 married to Jane?.

My father, Thomas Cannon Elam b 1909 was from Murfressboro, TN died in Cinti, OH in 1985 (married to Dorothy Reed Elam of Woodbury TN in 1950.
His parents, David Frank and Eliza Lytle also from Murfressboro.
The earliest Elam in this family I've been able to locate is Edward Elam b~1762-1789; d ~ 1779-1789 and Jane Mayfield Elam. Not much info on them.
They had Daniel Elam b~1779, d ~1830 and was from Charlotte Co. VA. He married Jane Lnu. They had 9 children: Edward, William, John, Robert Henry, Lewis Wills, Elizabeth, Nancy, George Foster and Henrietta. Their son Edward Elam (from Virgina) married Rebecca Wade (from Maryland--died 1858). Had 3 children--David Frank b 7/27/29 and Thomas Jefferson and Casandre.

My father's brother was a surgeon in th=e Civil war and was married to Elizabeth Snell. They had 8 children.

I noticed your reference to George Foster Elam. I am trying to confirm his relationship as ggggrandfather. I know he had a son John H. the same as my gggrandfather. John H. Elam b1853 lived in Murphrsboro Ar. and many of his children bore the same names as George's children. If you have any info relating to this I would appreciate a reply.
