I am working in conjunction with Ellen LAIDLAW DELLOS on the BROWN line you mentioned. Our line of descent is through Mary BROWN MCKENNA's brother Peter.
Peter married Elizabeth HALL and had 14 children. Ellen is from child #13 Thelma BROWN and my husband is from child #12 Hannah Marie BROWN.

We have that Margaret BROWN (1842-1936)married (1)abt 1873 Henry ATKINSON and m(2)abt 1883 Will KING.That is all I have right now.

We have that Hannah BROWN (1843-1941) married abt 1875 John ATKINSON and had 3 children: Lucille b.1877; Margaret b.1879 and Henry b. 1881.
Margaret married a GARDNER and had 4 children:Margaret, Mollie, Ben and Clark.

I have photos of the BROWN cemetery lot in Quinnesec, Dickinson, Michigan. Lee Austin was kind enough to take them for me this past March. This would be for Henry and Mary BROWN, parents of Mary BROWN MCKENNA and Peter BROWN.
Sincerely, Char Kibbie in Kent, Washington

I may be a descendant of Patrick McKenna. What is his approximate birth year?

According to his tombstone in the Negaunee Cemetery Patrick McKenna, married to Sarah Stack, was born c. 1800 (died May 20, 1865, age 65).

His son, Patrick married to Mary Lally, and who lived in Quinnesec has for his birthday in the 1900 census "March 1835," and his obituary of January 26, 1905 said that he was 69 (thus turning 70 in March), so birth year again 1835.

Hope this helps.

How are you related? I am the g-granddaughter of the younger Patrick's brother, Thomas Stack McKenna and his wife Mary Brown.

I believe I descend from Patrick's second son, James. James would be my g-grandfather. James married Marie (I think that's her first name) Surprise, who had my grandmother, Irene, who then had my father, James. The only birthdate I'm certain of is my father's, which is 1925. Both the McKennas and the Suprises can be found in the Quinnesec Cemetary.

James Henry McKenna (1873-1941), son of Patrick and Mary (Lally), married Della Surprise (1873-1963). They had four children:

Irene
Adris
Myrle
Philip

You have a cousin, Mary Pollard, in the Spokane area, who is descended from Myrle. You might wish to be in contact with her about sharing information and photos.

I believe that I had some contact with your father a few years back. I believe that Irene or your father returned to the McKenna surname.

If you would e-mail me at Margaret173@aol.com, I can ask Mary to contact you. I provided her and her mother with a CD of much of the material I have collected over the last 18 years.
