Hi Phyllis
Yes!!! We are talking about the same person.Martha
Mcconnell Ruddick was my grandmother Eleanor's sister, which means Wm was my Dad's
Uncle, and the 3 children were his cousins. Martha was born outside Ballymena NoIreland-near grange and
Whitesides Corner. I have her birth as 1866, but that's not a definate.I think she died in 1936. Martha was the daughter of James(1838-1913) and Agnes
Nesbit(1840-1874)(aka Annie/Nancy)
Mcconnell married in Ahogill,NI in 1861. Agnes died, I presume in childbirth in 1874, the yr my grandmother was born. James re-married in 1876 and the 6 children emigrated to NY. Martha and my gran were very close. My gran lived in the Bronx.Possibly Martha lived in the Bronx OR Long Island.
Just by co-incidence,last week I was speaking to 2 of the 'children' of the
Ruddick sons. Rev. Harold
Ruddick(85 yrs old this month) is in Ojai Ca., and he is the son of Walter and Paula, and then there is Dr. Wm
Ruddick in NYC, retired prof at NYU. He was the son of Harold Milton. Since their Dad and my Dad were cousins, I presume they are my ''2nd'' cousins?
Hope this helps you out, Phyllis. If you hear of anymore info about Martha, please let me know. Even the tiniest morsel of info could lead to a big discovery! Many thanks.
