I am searching for info on the above names. They are my great grandparents and before. Mathias was married to Julia Silverte and they had George Ervin. George was supposed to have been born in Dubois and Mathias was supposed to have been born in Bavaria. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have info on a Mathias Buechler who married Juliana Schwarz on May 19, 1851 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN. They had, among others, a son George Urban who was born on May 25, 1862. He was baptized on May 29, 1862 at St. Joseph in Jasper. Sound familiar? I am trying to find out where in Germany this Buechler family originated, and whether there is any relationship between this family and the Buechler family that lived in Harrison Co., IN, which originated in Göcklingen in the Pfalz, near Landau. I have quite a bit of info on both of these Buechler families.r families.

I am a descendant of Adam Buechler, Mathias's brother. I am looking for the name of their father Johann's, wife or his fathers name in Bavaria. My grandfather was Henry John Buechler b. Jasper, Indiana 1895. My dad was Linus Joseph Buechler, son of Henry and Veronica Block, also from Dubois County. Her parents were Frank Block and Mary Merkle. I can't seem to find much about them.

My family is from Mathias' brother Adam. Apparently they were from Bavaria, but I haven't secured that info yet. The only George Buechler I know of changed his name to Bigler and his family is still out of Harrison County, Texas.(I recently talked with a relation from Houston.) Glenda, My g.grandfather was Adam Buechler who came from Hessen Darmstadt, Germany in the 1850s and who fought in the Civil War and was wounded. Adam was married to Margaret Kerr. They resided in South Salem, OH in Ross County Ohio and Adam is buried in the town cemetery.
Adam Buechler with two dots over the letter "u" had two brothers who also came to America and were naturalized.
One brother was Michael. Perhaps there is a connection here with the name of Adam. Adam's lineage began spelling the surname as Beechler later on. I have been trying to locate the name of the ship the brothers were on and am not having much luck.
