Looking for info on Christopher Leslie Chadwick and his wife Sarah (nee Graham) who lived in Cooking Lake, Alberta from 1910ish until mid-1920s. They had 7 children born in the area: Nelly, Annie (?), Clara, Janet & Edna (twins), and Anna & Arthur (twins). Sarah died in childbirth in 1922, the kids were split up after that.

Any info would be much appreciated.

The Master Surname Index (not online) (mostly burials in Alberta cemeteries) of the Alberta Genealogical Society does list those names; but there are these.

Arthur CHADWICK, - 28 Nov 1941 (Pte. 101 & 9 Batt. CEF)
buried in The Edmonton 7 ave Cemetery.

Leslie CHADWICK, 1894 - 23 Sep 1982
Sarah Ann CHADWICK, 1897 - 30 Jun 1979
both buried next to each other in the Red Deer cemetery.

And there are 8 other CHADWICK burials in the Cooking Lake Cemetery. Would they be related?

And you can find Chadwick Homesteads near Cooking Lake at Township 51 and Range 22 - W4 on this AGS site.

Thanks for the info Peter. That is the correct Leslie Chadwick, Sarah Ann was his second wife, his first wife Sarah (Elizabeth?) died in 1922.

Is Nov 1941 the date of death for the Arthur you listed? My Arthur did serve in WWII and lived in Edmonton after the war, but didn't die until the 1980s or 90s. His wife Vera is still living there.

I found the homestead records. Looks like Leslie's brother Leon had the homestead next to him.

Can you tell me the other Chadwick names in the Cooking Lake cemetery? Perhaps it is Leon's family?

I am really trying to track down the other children (Annie, Janet, Clara and Edna). The kids were all put in an orphanage after their mother died, then Leslie came back for Nellie, Anna and Arthur, remarried and had 2 more children (Jean and George). We have no idea what happened to the other four kids from his first marriage.

Thanks for the help.
