I am also looking for information on my grandfather's (Oliver) family. Not much is known about them. I do know that my great grandmother's maiden name was Brandel. I have a lot of information about my family after Joseph and Ella, but not much before. Did I understand you correctly, that Joseph Mattek might have been a chef for Al Capone! Amazing!

John and Elizabeth Brandel is my grandparents. My mother is Lillian Brandel. Grandma's first name on her tomb stone is Louise. They are burried in Monico, WI. I live in Chippewa Falls, WI. There are more Brandels in my Mom's family. Where do you live? Who are your parents? My mom, Lillian Brandel married Steve Marmes. My married last name is Molle. Hi Helen, since posting this message I have found out that John was not Ella's natural father and that Elizabeth's maiden name was actually Louise A. J. Heidemann. It looks like we are related, though. John and Louise Brandel are my great grand parents. I will e-mail more to you off the board.

Do you know John Brandel's mother's maiden name? John had an older brother (half-brother actually) Wolfgang that is in my family tree. Have been trying to gather information about wolfgang's father, Joseph Brandl and Joseph's two wives. the first wife and Wolfgang's mother was Theresa Kerscher. Trying to verify the maiden name for his second wife, also Theresa. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Have quite a bit of information on Wolfgang if you are interested and some on the other brothers and sisters.
