Mi nombre es Juan Antonio Castañer Martínez, y resido en San Juan, Puerto Rico. El nombre de mi padre era Juan Castañer y abuleo paterno Antonio Castañer.

No. El nombre de mi padre es Juan Castañer Vélez, que por cierto falleció en julio pasado. Sí, los Castañer estamos emparentados con los Folch.

Yo he logrado recopilar información que comienza con Miguel Castañer Castañer que emigró de Mallorca a Puerto Rico en 1876 y se estableción en el barrio Guayo de Adjuntas (parte de lo que hoy se conoce como el poblado de Castañer) y sus descendientes, hasta llegar a este servidor; José Hudo Castañer y hermanos.

Se que los Castañer Folch con hijos de Francisco Castañer Castañer (1865-?), el cual me sospecho era hermano de mi tatarabuelo Miguel Castañer Castañer (1860-?) .

I do not have anymore on this line. I have the Castaner, Castañer, and Castanyer line in Soller. I have visited Mallorca four times.

Bartolomé Castañer had a previous wife, Angelina Frau (Montalvo) b: Abt: 1902 in Utuado, PR d: 1926 in Utuado. (I will have to visit Jayuya and Utuado to find documents that confirm this, but this line leads to me, so it must be true).

They had two children:

María Magdalena Castañer (Frau) b: 1925 Jayuya, PR d: 2001 Eufala, Barbour AL

Miguel Ángel Castañer (Frau) b:1926 Jayuya, PR d:1979 Jayuya, PR
