Do you know who the parents of William Billy Wilson were? I've always believed that he was related to my WILSON line of that area but have never been able to verify. Thank you Dan Wilson

I wish I could say this for sure, but I believe this line of WILSONs you mention (Benjamin and Barbara) are related to my line. Which is:
Marcus WILSON, b. 1795, who married Susannah MOORE, b. 1799, came to Whitley Co., KY in the early 1830s. They had a number of children, including a Benjamin (although it couldn't be the one you mention because this Benjamin was born in 1836), James, Joshua, and Burl or Burrel, which are some of the same names of Benjamin and Barbara's children. I think they are related, perhaps the Benjamin you mention is a brother of Marcus.
I've not been able to find who Marcus' parents were. Do you know when or where Benjamin was born or raised? Marcus married in Montgomery Co. VA in 1818. He served in the War of 1812 from the same county and was probably born there but I can't say for sure.

I have researched the WILSON families of McCreary, Whitley, Pulaski Co., KY and Scott Co., TN but have not been able to connect the Robert WILSON family with the WILSON line I am related to. Do you know who Robert's father was? I see that Sam, in the post before you, mentions it could be William Billy WILSON. If so, do you have the names of his parents? Many of my WILSON ancestors married KINGs in that region. I believe I corresponded with Emby Wilson years ago. I appreciate your help. Thank you Dan Wilson

King (1790-1880). Burl was married 4 times but can only find 3 wives. Let's try this again. The dye pin you are searching for is spelled Dipen or Deipen Burl (Burrell) King (1826-1917). Burl is buried in the Burl King cemetery in McCreary Co. KY. He was the son of Thomas M. King (1790-1880). Burl was married 4 times but can only find 3 wives. The Rebecca King I have (who is married to Robert Wilson) is the d/o Emby King (1852-1937) and Rosa Duncan. Emby and Burl are brothers. Dipen Burl had a son named Burrell King, he was married to Ida Jones. Have been unable to confirm this. I hope this info will help.

Since we're discussing WILSON/KING relationships from McCreary (Whitley) Co., KY, here is some info that might help those researching these surnames: Esau WILSON (1878-1953), son of Henry (1851-1895) and Serena Catherine (MOSES) (1848-abt 1905), married three different KING sisters. They were, in order of marriage, America Elizabeth KING (1876-1906), Nancy KING (1891-?), and Ollie Rebecca KING (1878-1962). From these three marriages, at least 11 children were born.
America Elizabeth, Nancy and Ollie Rebecca KING were daughters of Braxton KING (1839-1918) and Nancy (BLEVINS) (1844-1915). Braxton was son of Thomas Murray KING (abt 1790-1880) and Mary Ann "Polly" HACKLER (1800-1881). I do not know the identities of all Thomas Murray KINGs children. Thomas Murray KING was son of Burrell KING (unk dates) and "Poppie" TIDWELL (unk dates).
