Looking for any information that I don't already have, such as is he found in the 1891 Census of Richbucto?, who was his first wife, mother of Jane and Mary, when and where did she die?, when and where did his second wife Sarah die? Also any information on his four daughters, such as who did they marry and where did they go after the 1891 census? This family seems to disapear in the 1901 census. Any further information would be much appreciated, thank you!

There is a John Morrell born c1816 in Kent Co. NB on the 1891 CDN Census - found on Ancestry.com I can't access the complete record.

Contact the Moncton Public Library as they publish a number of articles about the people of Kent Co. See if they have a longer write-up on John Morrell's death in 1892 - they do obit lookups.

You didn't mention if you have his Land Petitions - great records: - this looks like him

RS108 :: Index to Land Petitions: Original Series, 1783-1918

Name MORREL, JOHN
Year 1855
County Kent
Microfilm F5932

Here are some possibilities for his daughters (from http://archives.gnb.ca)

Index to County Birth Registers

Child LEBLANC, ROSANNE
Sex F
Date of Birth 1895 | 02 | 09 (Y-M-D)
Place NOTRE DAME
County KENT
Father LEBLANC, THOMAS
Mother MORROL, MARY
Code 8-1-139-357
Microfilm F14035

Index to County Birth Registers

Child GRAHAM, GEORGE
Sex M
Date of Birth 1891 | 05 | 21 (Y-M-D)
Place KOUCHIBOUGUAC
County KENT
Father GRAHAM, CHRISTOPHER
Mother MORRELL, MARY

It is odd that they just disappeared... and that there are no cemetery records for this family.

I would check the Drouin Collection on www.ancestry.ca
These records contain people of many different religions and not just Acadians for the Kent Co., NB area.

Good luck,

Shirley

Thanks Shirley for taking the time to look into my post, and supplying me with a few leads.
The two daughters "Mary" are unrelated to This John Morrel, one is the daughter of a unrelated French "Moroll" family, and the other is a daughter of a James Morrell who resided in Kent County also.
I have the petition of John Morrell for Kent County, however there is not much on it being a short form.( He asks for 100 acres of land in 1855, on the south bank of [ Sc***ders Brook ] adjoining above the application of Michael Dempsey ).
I will try the Moncton library for an obit lookup, as the Richibucto Review only lists name and date of death, I will also look into the 1891 census Ancestry has, which is a new data base for them. The 1891 census on Kents Web site is missing the first part that might contain his family.

Again, Thank You!
Pat Morrell

I am trying to find an Isabella Morrell who married Robert Beck in 1866;she was apparently born in 1844 in PEI. Would there be any connection?
