I am looking for info abt my grandmother Mary Josephine Callaghan,sisters Kitty(Katherine?),Lillian,Nellie(Helen?) and brother Owen Eugene Callaghan. Married William Henry Grant,2 children Winifred Mary Grant(Shirley)and Brian Grant.
Father, Patrick Callaghan, mother, Mary McGuiness, both originally from Co Mayo (we think Ireland). Any info much appreciated thanx Karen

I have a reference to a P. Callaghan and his daughter Mary who married Andrew Reardon. Mary had a brother named Owen.
They were living in or around East Brainard News of Minnesota March 5, 1889.

Patrick Callaghan was in the US for a number of years not sure whether Mary was with him but my mother seemed to think that she may not have been but he may have married in the US and returned to Britain where he married Mary. He and his brother Owen returned to Britain but his brother Anthony remained in US. My mother seems to think Mary's family had something to do with the black and tan's in Ireland was either part of them or being chased by them and this is why they went to Britain. Hope that it the same Patrick as I am having no luck finding anything else about them and my mother has now passed away. Mary's family name was McGuiness

Hi Cecily, Sorry I have not replied earlier, I don't know where in USA that my Callaghans went to & 9 years later I only have limited amount of info. Patrick B: 1880 D:1933 buried ford cemetery Lancashire, Thomas B: 1883 - D: 1962 buried as Patrick, no info on Anthony & Owen. I think their parents where Denis & Minnie nee Malone. I do hope this is the same family.
