Hi,

I was doing some research, trying to fill in some of the blanks in my ancestory and happened upon your posting. My family are some of the decendants of James MCINTOSH and Kate MCCRAE. The following is provided from our family ancestory book "The ancestors of Samuel Levan Hershberger": Samuel LeVan HERSHBERGER was son of John Shirk HERSHBERGER and Emma LEVAN. He married Fannie Francis MCINTOSH in 1895 in Cripple Creek, Teller, Colorado. Fannie was born in 1876 in Clyde, Cloud Kansas. She was daugher of James MCINTOSH and Kate MCCRAE. Fannie died in 1955 in Twin Falls, Idaho.

I would like to learn more about the MCINTOSH's and MCCRAE's if you have the time. If you would like more from me, let me know. I have some exact dates on the births,deaths and marriages also.

His fathers name was Laughlin McIntosh born Mar 24, 1797 b. in Braemar, Aberdeen, Scotland, marr to Margaret b. 1832 ? d. Clyde, Cloud. KS buried St. Joseph Cem Cloud, Kansas. St Joseph Cem is 8 miles south of Clyde.
Laughlin {Locklin} had 5 children in Canada and 5 in USA
James died on Sept 7, 1875 at Clyde, Cloud, ks buried at St Joseph Cem. Marr June 3, 1874 at Clyde Cty, Kansas to Kate McCrae b. Nov, 17, 1856 in Canada. Died Oct 1, 1905 in Salinda, Chiffie Co.

I am looking for descendents of the Mary McIntosh and Charles McIntosh, daughter and son of Lachlin and Margaret McIntosh.
I am a great-granddaughter of their sister, Louise
McIntosh, who married Walter Scott Hermon. They lived in Kansas and Wisconsin.

In 2006 Nita Caffrey published a nice book on this family

I know I'm replying to an old post, but I hope to connect with you on some information. Emma LeVan Hershberger (married to John Shirk Hershberger) was my great, great grandmother. Her daughter Charity was my grandmother...Samuel was her brother. I have just begun to research my family linage and would greatly appreciate any information you can supply. It's my understanding that Samuel died in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1963. I haven't been able to find out if he had any children or what their names are.
