My great-grandparents were born in Slovakia. Jan Dzurek born 1864; Theresia Kafska born 1859; George Smihura born 1881 and Anna Kolar born 1882. Anna Kolar came to the U.S. in 1897. They all lived in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania.

Other relatives include Matej Dzurek born 1831, Helena Mamlinda 1822, Stefan Kafska, Maria Kruppa, Matus Dzurek, Elisabeth Kruppa, Pavol Mamlinda and Katarina Dojak.

I just ran across your message from March and wondered why the names seemed familiar yet I didn't remember corresponding with you before. Searching my records, I discovered that I've been in contact with your brother Dan and also your cousin Lyn, and we've been been sharing our genealogy research.

Your great-grandfather Jan Dzurek is my great-granduncle. His sister Maria b.17 Jan 1849 is my great-grandmother. Maria Dzurek married Matej Panek (my great-grandfather) which is how our mutual Dzurek/Panek families are connected. That makes us 3rd cousins.
