Years ago (1966 - 69) I bought a old book from a stall in Wakefield market a religious tome titled "The Life of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" by the Rev John Fleetwood D.D.
The fly leaves and inside cover bear the hand written details of Seaman family members BMDs a sample of which -

Sarah Anna the daughter of Lydia and William Seaman born April 19th 1860 four minutes before four in the morning

Hellener Houghton the daughter of Lydia and William Seaman born June 1st 1861 half past seven in the morning

Helena Houghton Seaman died Decenber 30th 1873

Helena Seaman died May 1878

Father John Neale died March 31 1871 aged 70 years

Charlotte Elizabeth Seaman died August 10th 1881 aged 18 years

William Seaman died January 16 1885 aged 14 months

Father William Seaman died Oct 11 1902 aged 71 years

George Pegg died Feb 10 1907 aged 12 years

If anyone can lay claim to this family they can have the book -its large but could be posted - its in Northampton

Hello. My SEAMAN/SAEMAN family is from the Berks and Northhampton area of PA. Is that anywhere near the location where you purcahsed this book? I don't know where Wakefield is located. Our family genealogist would dearly love to have this book, if it is indeed from PA. Thank you. Mary

Hi Mary.

Wakefield is a town in Yorkshire, England. Looks like the book is in the UK rather than the US, where I think you might be.

Its unlikely to be anythiung to do with my tree as my Seaman's all appear to come from North Wales so far (back to 1785).

Cheers - Graham.

You are quite correct, Graham. I am in the US and my ancestors hailed from Germany. Thank you for the reply.

Hugs,
