Yes, I agree. Erwin Smith is the only clue I have to my Smith ancestors in Pennsylvania. I need to find his Pennsylvania ancestors for a trail to take. I hope to prove or disprove that he is related to David Smith who was born in Pennsylvania, married in Lansing, Tompkins Co, NY, about 1828, and moved to Oakland County, Michigan by 1831. David Smith is the Grandfather of Charles Smith, the family Erwin was living with in Tuscola County, Michigan. Thanks for the assistance.

Hi,

I have been researching the John Quick House that was at 134 Ellington Street in Caro, Michigan. It is now the Caro Roadhouse Museum and has been relocated to the corner of Almer and Congress Streets in Caro.

John Quick married Charlotte Smith in 1921. He was 42, and she was 42, also, as per the Cass City Chronicle.

John and Charlotte Quick are in the 1930 Census with John having a step-daughter named Estella, so I'm sure Charlotte was the widow of Erwin Smith.

Michigan marriage licenses are online at the LDS family pilot record search. Go to http://www.familysearch.org and under search records click on the pilot option and download.

The marriage license for Erwin SMITH and Charlotte ALLISON from December 31, 1900 with marriage January 2, 1901 is there. Erwin's parents are listed as John SMITH and Sarah CLADER.

Enjoy,
Karen
