I am trying to locate a Death Certificate for Aaron Grindstaff. I know he died in Graham County, NC after 1910. He was in the 1910 census, living with his son Harvey. I am hoping he lived until at least 1912 in 1913 when they started keeping the death records. I know he was dead by the 1920 census. Is there anyone that could do a look-up for me at the Register of Deeds office in Graham County, NC (in the Death Records) for Aaron Grindstaff? He was born in 1824 and died between 1910 and 1920. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I live a good distance from Graham.

That would be wonderful. I am trying, in earnest, to get the name of his parents. I know his father was Henry Grindstaff and his mother is supposedly Cynthia Penland. However none of the Grindstaff researchers that I know have proved the mother's maiden name as Penland. Aaron had a brother named Jobe who die in my county (McDowell) in 1925, but on the death certificate is only listed his father's name, and not his mother. There is a sister Cynthia who died in 1921 but I still have not found a death certificate for her, although we are all sure she died in Mitchell County, NC. Again, I thank you for any help with Aaron's Death Certificate and I am hoping that since he died in 1913, there will be one.

I can not find my file for the grindstaff family at the moment (so whats new about that) I do have info going back to Detrick in germany, if you are interested I will send it along when I find my file. Can you tell me where in Graham Co. the Grindstaff Cemetary is located?

There are two Grindstaff cemetery's in Graham county, one is on Franks creek and the other one is on Beach creek the one on beach creek is very remote and hard to find if you are going try to visit them I would be willing to go with you to see them. I do have photographs of each if you are interested.

According to my family tree he died in 1910.
