Alexander Osborne - Lewis Co is my line. Greenup and Lewis were at one time part of Mason. My Alexander's wife was Henrietta.

The Alexander Osborne I'm looking for was born Nov 30, 1861 in Carter Co. He is the son of William Osborne & Anna Sloas. Alexander was married to Martha J. Lewis. I need some dates. Thanks - Hazel

Hi Jan,
I do not know if I have contacted you before or not. I am a descendant of Alexander Osborne and Henreitta Higgins. My gggrandfather was William Osborne one of their sons. Family Bible records list his birthdate as 1813, the same year of the marriage records of Henreitta and Alexander. I also have a copy of a court proceding regarding Henreitta's application for a land grant. Her eligiblity was granted because of Alexander's War of 1812 service, and William testified that his father died in New Orelans in 1830 and that he was married to Henreitta.
My dilema now is who was the father of Alexander? I believe him to be John as that was the name on the marriage bands to Henreitta. But can't prove anything else. I have some other hints, but nothing tangelible.
Are you still working on this family? If so I would like to touch base with you.
Thanks,
Diane Osborn Bingham

I believe this is my Alexander Osborne. Married Martha Jane Lewis about 1894 in Greenup County, had one son John. After Alexander died Martha then married Solomon Pennington. This is my husband's great grandfather.
