From the digging I did on your line I would say your Joseph is the son of Johann/John and Marie/Mary Vidlak aka Vidlock and Wydlack. I base this on their immigration to the USA, July 6, 1874, on board the "
Rhein", to the Port of
New York(page 181, Leo
Baca, Czech Immigration Passenger List) viz
Johann Wydlack, age 45, wife Marie, age 36, children:
Josef, age 17,
Franz, age 15, Franziska, age 12, Anna, age 9, Alousia, age 7, and Wenzl, age 5.
Johann is John, Marie is Mary,
Josef is Joseph,
Franz is Frank, Alousia is Lucy and the Eliza on the 1880 census, Wenzl is James or Jim. Another dau. Jennie born abt. 1876, NE. She is listed as Jane on the 1885 census, but the 1885 is a story in itself.
Lucy/Alouisa married John C. Schutt. Believe Frank married Katerine Herbacek. James/Vaclav/Wenzl married Lillian Brecka.
Anna married
Anton Bohaty.
From the Marge
Sobotka book page 71, I find this family came from the village of Vrtesice, town of Habry, county Caslav, Central Bohemia.
Have a copy of the imm. manifest page if you would like me to mail it to you.
