I'm looking for information about Captain Robert Hopkins. He was born about 1635 and died about 1677. He married Katherine Sandford. He was from Old Rappahannock County. What was he captain of? Do you have any other information?

I am looking for the same information myself. I will let you know if I find anything. So far I have done a lot of historical research and have a hypothesis, but have no proof or source documents. I am wondering if he was involved in Bacon's Rebellion, and since he died in 1677, he might have been on the losing side and might have been executed by the then governor. I think maybe this is why he has the title "Captain" in some documents. Hope I find something soon.
