Michael, my uncle was Wesson Graves and was married to Bessie Lee Graves. His mother Lela Frazier was my grandmothers sister. She died shortly after he was born and my Grandmother, Mae Frazier Renick, raised him. His father remarried. They and other Graves are buried in the Ashland cemetary. Go to Benton co graves list. Good luck. Mae

I believe your Graves Family and mine are one and the same.
My father L. M. Graves was the son of M. F. (or F. M. Graves, Marion Francis) and his second wife Lula Cindy Roach Powell. From what I have heard over the years dad's parents separated prior to his birth. Dad had half brothers--Walter (Married Mae), Ernest Doyle (Raymoth), Hugh (CarrieMoody) and Wesson (Bessie Lee Craft). Does this family fit in with your family. I have very little on this family since I was raised in San Antonio most of my life and probably had not seen any (other that Uncle Hugh and Aunt Carrie) since we left for TX in 1948.

I would appreciate any info and will be glad to share what I do have even tho it is not much.

Apparently we are related. My father L. M. Graves was the son of M. F. Graves by his second wife Lula Cindy Roach Powell. His half brothers were Walter (dob 11/28/1896) married to Mae.Ernest Doyle (dob 5/27/1900) married to Raymonth. Hugh F. (2/9/1908) married to Carrie Moody and Wesson (8/22 or 27/1910) married to Bessie Lee Craft.

Would love to correspond if there is a connect.

I have just posted a lineage for Capt Thomas Graves of Jamestown Va. Which points to Jacob Graves of Tippah County. My e-mail address is rwgraves@yahoo.com.

I noticed your mention of the Day and Simpson families. My grandmother was Nancy Jane Day Gibson(Ashland, MS) daughter of George Franklin Day and Martha Emma Simpson. Is there a connection?

Jabberbox......not sure. My great grandmother was Laura Day Duncan...Don't know too much about her side of the family. I think she had three sisters and her husband died very young in his twenties I think. My great grand mother on my fathers side was Elizabeth Simpson Graves.

I have 2 Elizabeth Simpson's in my file but do not have their husbands. Both were born in the 1830's. But didn't find Laura Day.
