Hi...I'm looking for info on Marion [nee Oneschuk] Dlugokenski, born 2/10/1916, died 3/3/1987, in CT. I am actually interested in the Oneschuck family but any info may help. Thanks.
p.s. the "l" would be soft so the Polish pronounciation is more like "DwoogoKENski"

Being public record, you may already have this; if you don't, it may provide a productive starting point.
By the way, if your research uncovers anything relating to 'John Joseph Dlugokenski' of Maspeth, NYC, NY, I would be interested. He was my grandfather, and it was he, as far as I can determine who changed the family name to Hill during WWII. Info about the meaning of the name would be appreciated, as would any historical highlights. I've heard some curious legends about the family and would like to know if there is a factual basis for them.

Hi John,
regarding what your grandfathers name means, from the polish I remember the word Dlugo translates to long? Hope this helps, The reason I was on this page in the first place is I had a Great Aunt named Frances Dlugokenski, nee Szymanski who was my Grandfathers Sister There are more brothers & sisters who settled in Michigan, Ohio & Massachussets I think.

Hi....I'm an Oneschuk. I'm not quite sure of what information you may be looking for. I know that my Great Grandfather, John Oneschuk came to the USA at a young age. I may be able to find more information.

I am the cousin of Melissa oneschuk who replied also. Our great grandfather John Oneschuk "Teehahn" came over by boat. I have been researching our last name for quite some time. The name is originally spelled along the lines of Oleszczak. It is a common name in Poland. Kind of like Smith or Jones is here.Our great grandfather is from a place in Poland called "little Russia". I have not yet figured out what part of Poland that is. I will update this if I find anything further.
