Looking for any information on my great grandparents William Delbert White and Sylvia Keney. William Delbert White was b. 1889, in Athens County, Ohio. He later married Sylvia May Keney in 1910. William's parents were Francis Marion White and Sarah Jane Pierce. Sylvia's parents were Earl Keney and Catherine Willson. Sylvia had two brothers and one sister: Earl R. Keney b. 1893, Maud Keney b. 1890, and Kenneth Clifford Keney b. 1906. Sylvia and William had 3 children Richard Raymond White (my grandfather) b. 1918, Anna W. White b. 1912, Jack K. White b. 1916. Jack married a Laura Thompson and moved to the Columbus area. I would like to get in touch with anyone who may have family history/stories they could share with me. I would also like to find anyone who would like to share old family photos as I am trying to compile as much information as possible. Anyone wishing additional information can e-mail me or write to me at P.O Box 335 Wrightwood, CA 92397.

Looking for anyone that is familiar with Frank Shaner, all I know is that he is my grandfather and committed suicide in the late 1930's or 1940's. Any information would be appreciated. I believe that he lived in Athens, OH or Athens County. My mother is his daughter and she never knew him.

Dear Teresa and others,
I am looking for information on the family of John and Mary Ann (GARDNER) WHITE, m. Athens Co, 20 March 1845. I believe that John WHITE may have been a brother to my gr-gr-gr grandfather, Thomas WHITE (b. 1805, Beaver Co, PA), but have yet to confirm this.
John and Mary Ann WHITE had 9 children that I know of (source: various US census, 1850-1880) as follows:
1.William WHITE, b. ca. 1847 at Ohio, m. Alvira Roxanna TINKER, 16 MAR 1876 at Athens, Ohio 2.Elizabeth WHITE, b. ca. 1849 at Ohio 3.David WHITE, b. ca. 1852 at Ohio 4.Albert WHITE, b. ca. 1854 at Ohio 5.Francis WHITE, b. ca. 1856 at Ohio 6.Mary A. WHITE, b. ca. 1859 at Ohio 7.John WHITE, Jr., b. ca. 1861 at Ohio 8.Martha WHITE, b. ca. 1863 at Ohio 9.Clara WHITE, b. ca. 1866 at Ohio
You mention in a June 1998 post that your gr-gr grandfather was Francis Marion WHITE. Could this be the same Francis as listed above? The only other info I have on Francis WHITE, son of John and Mary Ann, is that he was still single as of the 1880 Census.
As for John WHITE, my hunch that he was a brother to my Thomas WHITE is based on circumstances only - they were neighboring farmers in Trimble Twp as of the 1850 Census and John's mother Mary lived with him. Thomas' mother was Mary (SHANER) WHITE, father William WHITE - nothing else known about them.
I am looking for information regarding any of these WHITE families, as well as any SHANER's.
Sincerely,
Scott White

I found out that my grandfather's name was John, not Frank, possibly his full name was John Henry Shaner, and died around 1939 in Athens, Ohio, maybe Glouster county. He was married to Jessie Waymer Shaner, believe that this John Shaner committed suicide. Anyone that can find newspaper article or any information on this man, please post a message here Thank you
