Immigrant return to Finland
Searching for any relatives of Villi Koski who was in Upper Michigan in 1909, but said to have returned to Finland. Villi Koski was my natural grandfather and was from Kurikka. We are trying to find relatives for medical history. Villi may have been related by marriage to Kangas family.

Re: Immigrant return to Finland- Ville Koski
Can you provide more information on Ville? Approximate date of birth? Was he married when he came to America? How long do you think he was here before returning to Finland?
I see a ship manifest for a Ville Koski and wife Aina arriving in April 1909 in Philadelphia. Their destination is West Duluth MN. He was born in Leppavirta. This is not near Kurikka. He has been in the US before he states- 1907 in Hibbing. He was born about 1881.

Re: Immigrant return to Finland- Ville Koski- Philadelphia 1909
Aina Maria Koski is traveling with her husband Olli Ville Koski born 1880.
Her home parish is Leppavirta. Port of arrival for this couple was Philadelphia 4.28.1909.
This ship manifest states he is going to his friend Olle Karvinen.
I found this additional data on the Institute for Migration site.
Could this be your Ville Koski?

Re: Immigrant return to Finland- Ville Koski- Philadelphia 1909
It may be remotely possible. A marriage license was applied for in Bessemer, MI (Upper Peninsula)in Nov or Dec. 1909. but one would suppose that not likely, as the other person was my grandmother Jenny Maria Pellikka.I need to go to Milwaukee for relative's wedding. When I return, I will see if I can find any further information. Did the manifest state where his friend Ollie Karvinen was? Thanks again for your help. Are you looking for someone in the UP? My Villi was from Kurrikka, Finland, southwest area of Finland. L. Sullivan

Re: Immigrant return to Finland- William Koski in Hancock + Baraga
Miller, This doesn't sound like it could be my Villi. Hancock is in the UP, but not likely, this one with a wife and child already. Thanks, L. Sullivan

Re: Immigrant return to Finland- Ville Koski
Miller, I think not, since the one I am looking for must have been in the Besemer area without wife, since he applied for a marriage license, then left to return to Finland. This is verbal history from a relative many years ago. My father was his child who was born December 1909. Reason for my interest is medical history. Thanks again, L Sullivan

Have you found Pelikka family related to Jenny Maria?
Did Ville marry here in the U.P.?
Do you have an approximate date of birth for him?
There is a Tree on Ancestry.com for a Jenny Maria Pelikka from Oulu. See the Ilmonen-Koski family Tree. She was born 1887.
