If you can't find any German connections, there were old Yunker families that migrated to Russia during the Potato famine and then in the 1870-1890 timefram
migrated from the Volga Region, near Obermunjor Russia to the United States. Give this a try if you run into a dead end in the Germany area. Speaking of
Germany be careful when looking for "Germans" before 1890 as Germany didn't even exist before that time. Many people were refered to by the region in which
they lived. Hope this helps. Happy Hunting!!

My great-grandfather was Nicholas Pohl from Westphalia, Michigan, married to Theresa Pung. They moved to Isabella County had 10 children, one of which was Ernest Pohl, my grandfather. Trying to learn more about Nicholas before with no luck. Possibly related to this Margaret?? Seems to be the right year. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My Nickolaus Pohl was married to Anna Catherina Maurer (both born in Muesch/Eifel, Germany). They had only 4 children. One of these children was Anna Margaret Pohl, she married Jacob Yuncker and had 10 children.
Theresa Pung and Ernest Pohl are not in my family database. However, I do think that we may be related somehow, but not sure of our connection at this point. I do have additional information about the Pohl (Poll) family that goes back to May 26, 1665 in Wimbach, Adenau parish, Germany. I need to additional information about your connection to the POhl family before I can continue searching my family history tree. Thanks for your responding to my message. --- Wayne
