I would like to get back further than 1900 for the Yakesh Family to pin point a place of origin. Any Info would be great.
Jakes may be another spelling.

I have a Louisa Yakesh in my family tree. She was born in the late 1850s in Chicago, Cook Cty, IL. I know she married and lived there for awhile before moving to Indiana with her husband Christian Peters.

I'm in the process of obtaining a copy of what might be their marriage license and in a coincidence it looks like her name on it was listed as Jakes.

Perhaps we're looking for the same family.
