I havne't been able to find any information on the Meranto family line. My grandfather was Philip Meranto, born in 1887, I believe that he was from Calabria. He settled in Niagara Falls, NY He died in 1972. The only family blood family member that is still living, has alzheimers. He married Vincenzina Verald (though, I'm thinking that her last name may have been Veraldi). Their children are:
George 1912 - 1943
Albert (aka Al) 1917 - 1990
Viola (aka Vi) 1918 - 2002
Francis (aka Bibs) [still with us]
Robert (aka Rocky) 1923 - 2000
Frank (aka Fang) 1925 - 1989

If you are related to any of these people, would you PLEASE post here. I'm anxious in finding living relatives, as well as those that have gone before us. Thanx

From what I can gather all Meranto folks are related. There aren't a lot of us. I'm trying to trace our geneology. So far i'm able to trace back about 5 generations just by word of mouth from talking to folks. let me know if this helps. gmeranto@cox.net

I'd be interested to see what you have, especially since my Dad and his brothers/sisters have all past-away. I don't have any information on my Dad's uncles/aunts. So . . . I would really appreciate all the help you can give me. If I can add anything more, I'll definitely pass it along.

We are cousins!!!! Actually . . . 2nd cousins once removed! Your Dad and my Dad (now deceased) are 1st cousins!! I remember Keefe. I try to keep in touch with Cindy. Your Dad still looks GREAT! I saw them at Easter time, over my brother, Jim's, house. Nice to meet you over Ancestry.com. How much genealogy have you got? I don't have much on the Meranto side 8^(

Hello, I realize this is an old post, but Frank, aka Fang's wife lives in Las Vegas. There is also an "Albert" who lives in Las Vegas. I thought this may help you continue your search. Unfortuately, my father, Richard "Sam" Meranto isn't much of a family man so I don't know much, but would like to.
