John McWhorter of Effinham, Illinois. My greatgrandparents George S. McWhorter left Illinois in late 1890's and traveled to Texas working in oil fields. My grandfather was Everett McWhorter born in Seagoville, Tx in 1901. I know that they traveled with other family members. My grandfather told me that several stayed on in Texas. Would love to hear from anyone who may have information and share information that I have.

My great grandfather was born Aug5-6 between 1912-1916.Married to Ella He died in 1980-81 visiting relatives in Macon?Georgia and was buried in Wheeler,Tx. He was approximately 68-73years of age when he died. His name was Lewie,"louie","Lewy","Louis" Alexander McWhorter. My mother wasn't sure how his first name was spelled. I don't know the name of his parents. Is there anyone who can help? Ella and Louie McWhorter had two sons, A Richard Burl McWhorter b.May21-22 in 1933-36 respectively. He died in a train/car accident on Nov.7,1969 in a town near Wichita Falls, Tx he was between 36-38years of age at time of passing. His brother Delbert McWhorter was born in Wheeler,Tx same as his brother. He died at the age of48-49 in 1975-76. Richard Burl McWhorter married Frankie Leadbetterand had a daughter named Lynnette Sue McWhorter,born Oct10,1955 in Borger,Tx. Here is as far as I could get in my family line on the McWhorter side of the family. Can anyone help possibly with the parents or claim by relation my great grandfather somehow? Please e-mail.
