Freddie, Granddad was born in Philly, PA. I have info going back to his grandparents and should be getting more information soon. Our family is origionally from Virginia. Grandads fathers name is Edward Lee Gwalthney and he was married to Anna Hoffman of PA. His grandfather is named Lee and I believe he was married to a British woman named Jane Boyland. I have dates of birth, marriages, and deaths, etc. If you or anyone is interested in the information I have or may have additional information, please feel free to email me at glacierbear@earthlink.net

Take Care Cousin. Netcha

What a Godsend!! We are cousins!!! Please send me the info you have at my email address or via snail mail to Frank Gwalthney, 436 W. Centre St, Woodbury, NJ 08096. The 1910 census mention 4 children of Lee Gwalthney age 49 (born 1861 in Va), Edward 20, Catharine 15, Leo 15 (who would be my grandfather), and Thomas 6. Thomas Francis Gwalthney died about 1960 and I have been communicating with his son, Thomas Francis Gwalthney, Jr in Fla. He claims that Lee was the only son of a Samuel Lee Gwalthney who was killed at the battle of Fredericksburg or Chancellorville. This Lee Gwalthney 49 of Va was a Baptist supposedly married a catholic, Boyland in PA. She had a bad leg that caused her to limp. It sounds like you have the info I've been looking for. I have a whole bunch I can give you about the Leo Thomas side of the family, although you may already have some. Anyway, Thanks agian. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thomas Gwalthney was an uncle of my father Francis Gwalthney. Thomas F. Gwalthney is his son, a contemporary of my father (70+ years old) and living in Fla. Who are you?
