It was great to get a reply from a possible cousin. I'll give you some information I got at a Brandal get-together. M mother's name was Brenda Brandal before her marriage. Her father was Murl Brandal, now deceased. His brothers and sisters were Lloyd (still living at 92), his twin Floyd, Harry, Mable, Dolly, and Carl. They were all from the Michigan area. Their father was William Brandal, and his wife was Sarah Strouce. William's father's name was Jacob Brandal. Jacob's brother I believe was Samuel Brandal, and I was told that he came over possibly from Norway. My mother is unsure, but she also remembers two possible uncles named Lester and Charles Brandal. Dear possible cousin, here is some information I have received from my mother and several of her known relatives. My mother was Brendal Brandal before her marriage. Her father was Murl Brandal. Dear Jami, we are linked! but am not sure how. I have calling cards of Joseph and Jacob brandal. Have old photos(saved from my in-laws attic) one is Lester as a young man, I know he was in wwi and had several wives lived mostly single. His father Jacob and Mother Hattie who was 16 yrs older, in 1915 married Lafayette Down(have wed. photo) Hattie was born in England, Lester was their youngest. I think my John brandal is Jacob, Samuel and probably Joseph's, brother. He married Catherine Shrik, their children Daniel, rebecca, hannah and cashes and more according to the census. daniel married
jane buss, children lloyd and albert, lloyd is my husbands grandfather. I also have more brandal photos but can't identify, only one says to uncle dan aunt jane, from fred, hannah and lewie jolly. from portland mi but mentioned moving to mo. my father in law didn't know any of this as dan never talked of his family. hope to hear from you. jane
