I would like help in finding a record of the birth of my gggrandfather, Enos Thompson Bonney who was born 25 Nov 1834 alledgedly in
Farmington. He was the 12th child of Hervey and Hannah Fish Bonney. Hervey moved to Maine around 1816 and worked as a carpenter.
He lived successively in Phillips, Madrid and Strong. I have him listed in Strong, ME in the 1820 and 1840 federal census. While in MA, Hannah and
Hervey were married at the First Church of Kingston, Unitarian although I do not know what church they belonged to in Maine. Enos siblings were Andrew Hart,
Sarah Ann, James Harvey, Hannah Frances, Hiram, EMily, Stephen Fish, William Larrabee, Whitney, Perez Fish and
Charles Wesley. Enos moved to Texas right before the Civil War, joined the CSA and served as a surgeon. I would guess that he received his
medical training in the North although I do not
know where. I will be glad to share what I have of
their Mississippi relatives! I understand that there
was a family bible that was quoted as a source in
several periodicals that I have seen in the New
England Historic Genealogical Society library in Boston. Does
anyone have knowledge of that? Any help that anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
I also have a copy of a letter written by a Farmington resident, Daniel Marston Bonney to his nephew Evans in 1925 telling quite a bit about
the family. I look forward to hearing from Bonney relatives.

My wife's maiden name is Bonney, her father is George Albert Bonney. His father was an Alderman in Maine or Massachusetts. My wifes brother name is Daniel named after one of the ancestors. Unfortunately, my wife's father died years ago as well as his mother Hazel. Although George has a sister whose name is Gaye. I will attempt some contact to assist. We are also looking for some ancestry out in the Maine area. We have lost contact. Their are alot of Bonney's out there though. I hear they are well to do. Rumor has is that William Bonney (Billy the Kid) has some relation. This has been hushed. It's like pulling teeth to find out information. Stay in contact. There maybe some anchestry relation here.

Fish Family

Sorry for the delay. I was actually in Boston for an extended stay. Did some research on the fish family at the NE Historic Genealogical Library and although I don't see how our lines connect, you may be interested in a Fish family genealogy in several volumes. The name of the person that was listed as the collector/editor is Laurine Mae Palmerton Logsdon (Lauri-Lines) 2. 2827 Ivory, Spokane, WAS 99203. I have not written to her yet since I was able to get the information I needed at the library, but you might try her. Good luck, Victoria

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in replying. I was actually in Boston doing some research in the NE Historic Genealogical Library. I can't connect your Bonney's to mine but there is an excellent book on the early Bonney's at the library in Boston available for purchase or loan, I believe, called Bonney Family by Charles L. Bonney. However, you need to make a few more connections as the book was written in 1898! Hope this might help. I've heard the Billy the Kid rumor, but have not ever verified that. Would be interesting. Hope you can track down some of the Bonney's. Victoria

Hi. My name is Rianne Bonney. I am 16 years old. I am replying to you because I also have been trying to trace back my family history. I have also heard rumors of Billy the Kid being related to the Bonney tree. My grandfather, Robert Bonney, has told me this. I haven't gotten very far in finding more of my relatives. I am very curious in the Bonney family because my father passed away 15 years ago, and I don't know much about him and the rest of the family. I have a great grandmother, Catherine Meserve, who is Robert's mother. That is all I really know about the family tree and I would like to know more. If by any chance your wife is any relation to me, please contact me! Thank you!!

My grandmother, marilyn (Bonney) Mask who passed away in 1995, was said to have been related to William Bonney (Billy the for kid). Allthough I do not know much regarding the subject, I would like for you to reply with anything you know, if you could. My grandmother, as far as I know, lived her entire life in Barry's Bay, Ontario, Canada.
Thanks
