I am looking for any information on George BATTLEY who died in 1957 in Missouri. His date of birth was either 1899 or 1897 maybe in the month of Noevember. He may have been born in Boston, Mass. or Wisconsin. I believe his parents were Philip BATTLEY and Lena GRACE. Please email me at sbv007@mail.connect.more.net

Lynne, my dad confirms that these are not the same. William Herbert died in the mid-1950's, something that I didn't have in my notes (and didn't put in my original post). Thanks, Laura

I am a great-grandchild of that person. I believe if you look for the New Roads, Louisiana phone book in your public library, you should find some Battley's in it. My grandfather was the late Joseph Davis Battley, Senior of that same place. I now reside in Houston, Texas, but I have a host of great-aunts and cousins in New Roads that hve the last name of Battley. I recieved my name from my mother, LInda Ruth Battley, daughter of Joseph Battley Sr. Get in touch with my mother at: (281)458-5041.

Yes, I believe so, sorry for such a long wait. Please email me back;-some ancestors came also from Haiti. Six or seven
brothers came over by ship to settle in the United States, but not necessarily from Haiti. Look for more information in New Roads, Louisiana.

Sincerely,
Quisia Battley
