Where in Illinois, i.e. County and city and at what time period was he born. Is there any German background to this family. I ran across an Asche in Will County Illinois; the first name was obviously German.

I am looking for any info. on Weert Asche born 4-15-1861 in Germany in Weener Province, Germany to the Forreston, Illinois area about 1890, married Bertha Mudder and later married Maria Heyerhorst, sons were Joe, my Dad, Lewis, Ben, Klaus, Fred,Angle, daughter Freda, moved to Iowa in 1913. My mother was Ursal Bassett. Her mother was Dena Asche Bassett.
Her husband was Freeman Bassett. They lived in Scotland, SD.
Dena's parents were Weert Asche Bertha Mudder. I believe there must be a connection here.Can't wait to hear from you.

Hi Donna, sorry I didn't back to you sooner, I forgot I had put a message on this site. Weert Asche was my Grandfather and his second wife Maria Heierhorst was my Grandmother. Do you know Lawrence Ascher from Illinois? He's from the first family. My Dad was Joe Asche, Weert and Maria's son and he lived in Kanawha, Ia. I live in Oregon. I just found your message and am very happy to hear from you again. It makes it difficult when you don't have a computer. I have quite a bit of info. on Dena and Freeman Basset, Jackie was their daughter, If you will send me an address I'll make copies of what I have and send it to you.
