I am looking for info about a Sarah Mann who married Andrew Charles Bullard around 1876. In the 1880 US Census they are living in Hamilton Co with my grandfather Jacob age 3 a daughter S.Rachel under 6 months. I am told that another son was born around 1883-85 who my father called Pat. Andrew Charles Bullard left this family in Illinois and came to Oklahoma Outlaw Territory. Some info given to me is that a John Mann, Sarah's father was killed on his way to her farm in 1886 so I think Sarah was still living in Hamilton Co then. I have found much info about the John Mann family but nothing else about Sarah. I would love to know if Sarah's daughter lived. We did not know about her until research started. My grandfather never mentioned her. His brother was said to have worked on the railroad. Any help would be very appreciated.

In the 1932 obit for Andy Mann (son of John Mann & Rachel Barker), it states that he leaves one sister: Mrs Sarah Bullard of Mississippi

I am not familier with the Mann family however I am interested in the Barker connection. I do know that their are several gravesites with the name Bullard within the Barker cemetery near Buroughton, Illinois. Any information on Rachel Barker would be appreciated.
Thanks! Mel

Please tell me about the Rachel Barker you are looking for. When was she born and was this a married name or her maiden name. I am also looking for a S.Rachel born around 1880 and at one time her name was Bullard. I have not been able to find a clue about her and wondering if this could be her. She was born in Broughton, Hamilton Co IL. Do you know of anyone who has a record of the cementery there in Broughton

In the 1850 Hamilton County census, there is a Milton M Perry age 11 years born IL, listed with Leroy and Margaret Perry family....appears to be their son. I do know from my own research that Margaret Perry's (the mother) maiden is Shirley. I have traced the Shirley family to Hamilton County from Dripping Springs Baptist Church in Warren County, KY

Sheila, Thanks for the response. I thought Leroy and Margaret could be the parents of Milton. The M. must be a census taker's mistake, which they often made. Do you have the parents of Margaret Shirley?

I saw your query from 1999 - this may help. At the Barker Cemetery in Hamilton Coo., Il (between Broughton & Walpole) there is a marker stating "Children of A.C. and Sarah Bullard" There are four markers lined up behind it:

Frank E. Bullard Jan 21, 1876 - Sept 7, 1876
Rachel L. Bullard Dec 18, 1876 - Dec 9, 1880
John W. Bullard May 28, 1881 - Jan 16, 1882
Illa Mae Bullard Oct 12, 1883 - Feb 7, 1884
