Laszlo KOSZTINKA and wife Julia KOJSZA were in Zeykfalva, district (járás) of Vajda-Hunyad, county (megye) of Hunyad, in 1902. A son, Sandor KOSZTINKA was born here in October of 1902. In 1904, Laszlo and his daughter Julia KOSZTINKA left here, making their way to Fiume, where they sought passage to the USA. Laszlo returned approximately 6 months later. It is possible, that another daughter, Maria (my grandmother) gave birth to a daughter in Zeykfalva or the nearby village of Russ in 1903 or 1904. In 1907, when Maria emigrated to the USA, the child was left behind, perhaps with Maria's parents, or someone else.
Nearby villages and settlements include Russ, Hatseg, Szent-Kiraly, Hosdat, and Kalan.

Today the village is in Romania, district of Hunedoara (Vajda-Hunyad), and is called STREI. If you have any information about this village or any of the surrounding villages or area, or the surname KOSZTINKA, please contact me. Any help is greatly needed and appreciated.

STREI is the Romanian name for the Hungarian village ZEYKFALVA. I have no idea when it was given this name but it has also had these spellings: Sztej and Sztrej.
