So good to see your name again - it has been a long time. Over the holidays I got a call from Don Townsend sone of Thomas Manning Townsend son of Byron Emerson Townsend - father of my grandfather Ray Townsend. He said he was going to send a bunch of information and invited us to Carmel to tour the family area. This is very exciting. Any information I can find of course I will forward to you. Hope all is well. Have you upgraded to 4.4 yet?

Great to see this on the GANUNG. My mother was a GANUNG and we lived in Putnam Co. for years. In Union Valley. I have a lot of information on the GANUNG family and would be glad to share. My husband is Charles L. Ganong and also had a home in Union Valley and had his our plumbing business in Mahopac. Which GANUNG is your family? I have the Genung - Ganong - Ganung Genealogy and there is a few BARRETT listed in it.

Hope this connects to your Townsends. I'm looking for ancestors of Gilbert Townsend, b.April 5, 1764 in Washington, Putnam,
NY, d. February 10, 1843 in Townsendville, Seneca, NY. His wife was
Abigail Mead, b. June 7, 1765 in Greenwich, Connecticut, d. March 17,
1839 in Townsendville, Seneca, NY. They were married in 1780 in
Dutchess County, NY. I have one more generation--Gilbert was the son of
John Townsend, b. 1743, d. 1821, and his wife Jemima Travis.

I checked a book about them at the DAR, titled TOWNSEND GENEALOGY - A
RECORD OF THE DESCENDANTS OF JOHN TOWNSEND
1743-1821, AND HIS WIFE, JEMIMA TRAVIS 1746-1832 by Cleveland Abbe and
Josephine Genung Nichols. Unfortunately, it only says some vague things
about how John came to Putnam Cty, NY "from the east", but also says he
was descended from the Oyster Bay Townsends -- just no details
provided. I have quite a bit of info about their descendants, just need to know where they came from and whether they have any ties to the Oyster Bay Townsends.Oyster Bay Townsends.

Hi, Are you any relation to an Edward Ganong who was an undertaker in Carmel in the early 1900's ??? This Ganong buried many of my relatives. I am interested to find out who took over his funeral business and has the business in Carmel today .

I am researching SMALLEY, my father grew up in Brewster. His fathers obit says he was born in Hortontown (can't locate on map). Also on my mothers side the name WIXON. I believe they came from NY also.om NY also.

My father, Charles Willis Smalley, is 83 years old. His mother was Laura Enzian & his dad was Charles William Smalley. My dad is one of nine children. His brother George (in Pougkeepsie) & he are the last of the boys. He has surviving sisters, Jenny Dalton in Brewster, Ethel (I believe she is in a home suffering from dementia, Ruth 'Evelyn' Brown, Danbury, CT & Helen.
