Looking for family from Slobozia.Nicolai Mykytiuk has this as his place of birth.Nick came to Canada in 1930,two years after his brother Vasile. We believe that there is still a living sister,Christina, she would be about 80 years of age now.Nick's parents are listed as Teodor (Fred) Mykytiuk and Elesandra(Alesandra,Mary)Bota. If anyone can help me this would be much apprecieted.

Hello,

I live in NC and my mom was originally from Ialomita. My ancestors' last names in Ialomita were: Sutu and Georgescu (comuna Poiana).

All I can tell you is that Mykytiuk is not a Romanian name. It could be Turkish, Macedonian, Russian, etc. I still have relatives in Ialomita. If you have more info e-mail me. You could look up the Romanian White Pages and see if there are similar names.
